Seeing Red…And White

If you hear christmas music on the radio and see snow falling from the sky, you know the holidays are near…or it’s still November. Either way, now might be the time to start consider all that you’ve done the past year and decide whether or not you deserve a break from it all. Even the most determined amongst us might have trouble weighing rest against performance. I myself have been struggling with this question recently, though I feel I’ve come to a happy medium in at least one area of this.

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you’ll know that I rarely eat at restaurants, This makes eating fast food a treat for myself despite how cheap it can be compared to other places. Even still, any time I ask myself if I deserve to splurge in that way I usually stay my hand. Most of the time it comes down to the fact that I could be spending that money on furthering my business or improving my own personal company (Which I have tricked myself into believing helps my business…somehow.) Due to this habit of staving off fast food until the odd occasion where it’s simply convenient, my body is so unused to processing it that my innards make a huge fuss every time I indulge! While that sounds like a bad thing initially, it plays a big part in fueling my disgust towards low quality food the next time I crave it, clocking in at one meal per month and sometimes not even that!

So if you’re thinking about rewarding yourself after an entire year of hard work, consider delaying it, even if it’s just for one day, as for all the discomfort I feel after eating fast food, there’s a blissful moment where I bite into that burger and it tastes good. Now excuse me while I devour an entire jumbo sized Toblerone in one sitting.

Thanks for reading and I hope you learned something from my own lesson in life.
