Springing Forward

Easter is near! And with it, our second reminder that winter is over and it’s time to live outside a little more. Today I’d like to go over one of many different ways I’ve done that to inspire you to do the same.

Recently I’ve been doing my best to look at problems in an entirely different light. One such problem is my feet, or more specifically how painful they are to use. This is a problem that I had checked on by professionals, a problem that I was told could only be managed and never fixed. This was an issue that I would have to pour thousands of dollars in to per year and get constantly re-fitted for. All of this effort just to be able to walk down a street without pain, though walking two would still be a stretch. That is until I happened across a random video online.

This random person had made and uploaded a video only relating to my issue, telling me I was walking wrong, standing wrong and what I needed to do to fix it. Unlike the podiatrist I had went and seen however, they didn’t ask for a cent of my money. So after four years of half-decent results, I decided to try this new way of life, and it started with not wearing shoes anymore. I had even bought a set of in-door shoes so I could wear hundreds of dollars of insoles inside the house, so the prospect of ignoring them was already an odd one to say the least. Though I’m already at the point of trying everything I can to improve my life, so I know discarding money in this way can sometimes be worthwhile. After 2 months of effort, through gritting my teeth and pushing through the pain, I managed to remove the pain I felt altogether.

I went from being unable to stand for longer than twenty minutes at a time to wishing I could be barefoot everywhere I go! Perhaps you yourself have an annoyance that could use some attention this year. If so, let this be your call to action!

Thanks for reading and I hope you learned something from my own lesson in life.
