Red Open Door
Hi there and thanks for reading the Cowboy Computer Repair blog. Have you ever found yourself going down a path and found yourself having a bad gut feeling about the road ahead? Perhaps sometimes it’s a good idea to trust that feeling as we look at it in todays blog.
Most skills require effort, this much is obvious. Though many find it easy to forget that this means effort over not just a day, a week, a month, but well over a year in most cases. This alone no doubt requires dedication, but what about when you have a bad feeling about what’s to come of the skill you’re learning? Let’s say for instance you are trying to learn how to use a piece of software and how to manipulate it to get you desired results, if that piece of software were to randomly disappear, where does that leave you?
If the answer truly is “a big fat waste of time“ then perhaps it’s time to reevaluate what you’re learning. One way may be to pivot in to understanding parts of this hypothetical software that are more similar to others of its kind. That way if one bridge falls out from under you, you always have another similar one to cling to down the river. Another answer could be to discard this endeavour entirely and start in a new field, even if it may hurt to give up on the skill since you have probably put your heart and soul in it at this point, it will hurt a lot more should your legs get cut out from under you without a plan B.
While these options are all well and good, there’s only one way to determine which will be right for you. Research. I am far from having all the answers, in fact you might find additional options for your given training while researching your field of choice, but in order to find out which doors of opportunity are in fact marked with red warning flags is to get into the weeds of the subject and find out how its future actually looks. This sadly isn’t something you’ll find the answer to in a magic article, but several, and looking at where those articles got their information from and what it says at their many sources. Only you can determine your future after all.
Thanks for reading and I hope you learned something from my own lesson in life.
