Odds And Ends

Hello! I hope you’re having a great year so far because I know I am. I have recently liberated myself from one of many burdens and I hope to help anyone who reads this. That is if you haven’t already came to this conclusion of course.

I was increasing my inventory and looking for space to store it. I started with the obvious choice first, the closet. I rarely open my closet and decided it would be devoid of items for that reason. Though what I found when I opened the door was instead a space devoid of room. Mountains of powercords for long discarded electronics. Boxes upon boxes for items that are currently in use, in case they get replaced and I need a place to store them. All that and a coffee table (???) made for one full closet, one with no way for me to store the 1000ft of cable I had just purchased. No possible way at all. Unless of course I let go of all the things in that closet and throw them out. And after some thought that’s exactly what I did, except for the coffee table as those are somewhat expensive at times.

I decided to tackle the rest of house with this in mind. While I’m still whittling away at it, I can safely say it has become far easier to find the things I need so far. It might hurt once in a while when I end up needing an item I threw out this week, I know that will only happen once in a blue moon, if at all. After years of experience from having these items around while not using them, I have decided whatever pain I can feel from lacking these items is worth the relief of discarding them here and now. Perhaps you have some items lying around that fit this description? If they aren’t too expensive to replace and they lack sentimental value like a family photo would have, try getting rid of it. You might avoid becoming a hoarder yet!

Thanks for reading and I hope you learned something from my own lesson in life.
