Duck And Cover

Hello and thank you for visiting Cowboy Computer Repair! If you’re new here, this blog is where I explore concepts and ideas related to business, health and generally doing a good job. Today I would like to explore what you should do if there is nothing left to do, or rather when you feel there’s a storm coming that you can’t avoid.

Let’s suppose you deal in food and catering at your own restaurant. Your business is well put together and more than popular in your area. Though for one reason or another, be it a food shortage or heavy regulations, you know a downswing in business is on its way. However, you know it will be far from permanent and business will resume in a month or so from the day it all goes south. Naturally you may prepare budget cuts and shortened work days to compensate for the loss in revenue coming your way, but what if you kept working instead?

Not working quite in the same way you have been before, but what about working on improving yourself, or your business at large? There’s no better chance for renovations and repairs than a time where you’ll be seeing fewer customers. Alternatively, you can take a smaller part of your business and expand it to avoid a loss in profits. Seeing as it is a restaurant, you can start offering culinary courses for home cooks, as you will not need nearly as much food to supply a single class per day. Better yet, you can acquire more cleaning supplies and start offering cleaning services for a time, since most of the staff in your restaurant will be well versed in cleanliness in order to keep the kitchen in good shape. With enough thought, this can be applied to many different things, from other businesses to self improvement. Try considering this yourself! You might just thank me later.

Thanks for reading and I hope you learned something from my own lesson in life.
