Plans, Old And New

Sometime ago, I had an interview with a news reporter who asked me a few questions about my business. Having someone to talk to about my business helped me see things in a whole new light, a light that I would like to share with you today.

I took all kinds of preparations at the very start of Cowboy Computer Repair, one of which were ways to receive payments. This is possibly the most important thing a business can focus on, since if you can’t get paid for doing a job, that’s no longer a job but a favour. The only one that saw absolutely no use for quite some time was Interac E-transfer, which to be fair is in somewhat of a grey zone between credit cards and cash. Far more recently however, I began advertising my services on Facebook Marketplace (which took a fair bit of time to see results in its own right.) Then, in one fell swoop, someone found my services through that very marketplace, requested them, and once satisfied, paid through that ancient payment avenue called E-transfer.

This shows that in order to have success (Or to even be paid at all) you need long term plans combined with constant action. While the only reason I was able to receive payment in this scenario was due to setting up E-transfer on my bank account, the only reason I had a chance to earn money was because I took further action and advertised myself. These actions are only a few of many possible, or more specific to my case, some of the many actions that were taken. While some of the sites I have placed an ad have shown no results to this day, I’m not worried about them, as they are free to sit idly by while I focus on taking further steps elsewhere. Perhaps you yourself could benefit from taking more measures that can sit passively and improve your life in small amounts at a time.
